Method 1 – Take a Full Screenshot

To take a full-screen screenshot, simply press the “PrtScrn” (Print Screen) button. You will hear a click and the screenshot of your full desktop will appear on your clipboard. Simply press “Ctrl + V” to paste this image to any program, like Paint, that you can open from your computer’s menu.

  1. Go on the screen you want to take a screenshot of and press the [Ctrl] + [PrtScr].
  2. Go on an image editor. (e.g. paint or photo editor)
  3. Press Ctrl + V to paste the screenshot into the file you’re editing.
  4. Save it on your computer as you like then you’re done!

Method 2 – Using the Windows Snipping Tool

The Snipping Tool is a convenient and easy to use tool for taking screenshots on your computer. It is perfect for students or for any user who wants to make productive use of their time. You can take screenshots in a variety of different ways, including full screen, active window, rectangular, or free-form.

  1. Go to the Start Menu and search for “snipping tool”. Click on Snipping Tool.
  2. Take a screenshot of the area you want to take a screenshot of.
  3. Click save and choose the location you want the screenshot to be saved to.

Method 3 – Using the Windows + Print Screen Keys

If you want to capture a specific part of your screen, such as one window, or even just an area where there are multiple windows open, then you can use the key combination “Windows + PrtScrn”. You will hear a click and the screenshot of your current desktop will appear on your clipboard.

  1. Go on the screen you want to take a screenshot off and press the [Windows] + [PrtScr]
  2. Go on an image editor. (e.g. paint or photo editor)
  3. Press Ctrl + V to paste the screenshot into the file you’re editing.
